The space

Roots of Gaia offers a spacious, comfortable living room designed for spending time with family or friends — the 6-seat dining table invites group meals, while the small balcony, with a bench for 2, is the perfect spot for a coffee outdoors. In the kitchen, a second table for 4 is ideal for breakfast or quick everyday meals.

The neighbourhood

The location makes it easy to combine city energy with coastal calm. Just a few minutes away you'll find Praia da Madalena, one of Gaia's most iconic beaches, and the striking Capela do Senhor da Pedra, built on the rocks by the sea. For a taste of authentic Gaia, Afurada invites you to stroll its typical streets and enjoy some of the area's best fish and seafood restaurants.

- Quiet hours from 10pm
- Only guests registered on the reservation may stay overnight

Guest access

You'll have private access to the entire apartment. Check-in is fully self-service: you'll receive a link with all instructions before arrival and can let yourself into the home with no need to wait for anyone. Free parking available on the street.

Interaction with guests

The Hommelier team is available by message or call throughout your stay for anything you need. We also provide a digital neighbourhood guide with local recommendations in Portuguese, English and Spanish.

Other things to note

Check-in: from 3:00 PM (self-service, via link sent in advance)
Check-out: by 11:00 AM

Welcome kit: shower gel, shampoo, coffee pods, salt, pepper and olive oil offered at the start of your stay, as a courtesy. Towels and linens included.
Smoking policy: Raízes de Gaia follows a zero-tolerance policy for smoking inside the property. Should our team identify signs that this rule was not respected (smell of tobacco, ashes or cigarette butts), we reserve the right to apply a specialized cleaning fee starting at €200.

Extra services available upon request:
